Thunderclan, Riverclan, Windclan, and even Shadowclan were living in peace and harmony. Stormpaw was a happy apprentice in Riverclan. Finally, she had received her warrior name, Stormfront. Proud of this name, she was excited to go on her first border patrol as a warrior...until she saw the pile of bones. Upon the pile of mouse skulls and bird limbs, Tigerstar stood menacingly. Suspicious, Stormfront crouched in a bush, as if stalking a plump mouse or vole. The bones crunched as Tigerstar walked upon them; Stormfront felt sick to her stomach, as if the fish she had eaten at noon was rotten. Queasy, she observed the surroundings. Featherkit and Stormkit (not Stormfront), half-clan kits (but welcome in Riverclan), were cowering behind Stonefur, the deputy of Riverclan. Stonefur stood with his chin up, unblinking, as if he was refusing to do something. Tigerstar growled.
Skykit was only two moons old, yet she managed to sneak past three warriors and the medicine cat unnoticed. Skykit was supposed to be escorted to Tigerstar on his dumb pile of bones (the reason she knew not), but she had refused, knowing that she was a half-clan kit and that Tigerstar hated cats like her. She approached the border to Riverclan. And she crossed.
Stormfront didn't see the sneaky little kit approach until Skykit crouched behind the bush next to her, hissing at the towering pile of bones. Startled, Stormfront stared at the tiny gray kit. Skykit had been born of a Riverclan father and Shadowclan mother, making her a half-clan kit. Stormfront felt bad for the half-clan cats, as they were often taunted for being mixed, and leaders felt they were dangerous. Stormfront couldn't believe how a kit could possibly be dangerous until Skykit had sneaked up on her. Grunting with annoyance at being so distracted, she returned to her attention to Tigerstar, just in time to see Tigerstar sink his fangs into Stonefur's neck.
Instantly, Stormfront leaped into action, completely ignoring the other cats; intent on getting her revenge. She didn't notice the two mewling kits or Darkstripe as she sank her claws into his leg. Not enough to kill him, but enough that Stormfront was sure that Tigerstar would be scarred. Satisfied with her deed, she picked up Skykit in her jaws and ran.
Skykit was now Skypaw; she was six moons old and being trained by Stormfront in the skills needed to survive in the wilderness without a clan. But now she knew she could not leave cats of her clan or any other clan to be dictated by Tigerstar and his minions. Stormfront was trusted among Riverclan, so she managed to get many warriors from her clan to come with her into the wilderness. Skypaw was even more successful; she convinced several cats from Thunderclan, Windclan, and Shadowclan to join her and Stormfront.
The few warriors that accompanied the two she-cats traveled long and far, looking for a place where they may settle. Along the way, they convinced a few rogues (including a kit named Petal), to join them in pursuit of peace and prosperity. Finally, after eight moons of trekking in the wilderness, along two-leg places and badger dens, they found it. They found a home.
Skypaw was the first one to notice the ravine. She fell into it. It was nighttime, so before Skypaw could warn the other cats, they all tumbled in on top of her. Shaking the dirt off her pelt, Skypaw started wandering around. There was an invisible light source that none could see yet allowed the ravine to give off a faint welcoming glow. Until Skypaw found the light. No, she did not fall into it. She would be dead if she did. She had wandered into a glowing cave, until she came out into an opening. The tunnel did not budge behind her (Skypaw thought it would close because of common landslides at Riverclan and the myths the elders told her about). The source was a pool of lava...
Stormfront named the lava "The Pool of Eternal Light", as it seemed to never get dimmer. There was also a small waterfall, that lead into "The Pool of Serenity", because even though there was constant water crashing into it, the water never did more than ripple.
The following day, the warriors and rogues elected Stormfront to be their leader. She was now Stormstar. Stormstar established the territory during the day, and at night, announced that Skypaw, who had been apprentice for for than eight moons, deserved her warrior name for her dedication, bravery, and talent.
Skypaw was now Skyleaf, and the deputy of Bubbleclan.
